The Secret Histories of Costume

To accompany the exhibition Costume at the NT,  this workshop uncovers the secret histories of costume and costume-making with leading theatre and fashion historians, and members of the costume-making teams at the National Theatre. Audiences will be taught to construct small objects of costume while listening to dialogues between historians and costume makers:

Tiffany Watt Smith (Queen Mary University of London) in dialogue with the Costume Props team, Esther Leslie (Birkbeck University of London) in dialogue with the Textile Studio and Dye Shop, Christopher Breward (Edinburgh College of Art) in dialogue with the Men’s Tailors Shahidha Bari (London College of Fashion) in dialogue with the Ladies’ Makers and Aoife Monks (Queen Mary University of London) in dialogue with the Alterations team.

Tickets £35 (£20 senior citizens / £7.50 students, under-18s and Entry Pass members)
